Antony Jinman

Starting his  outdoor career as a tour and trek leader Antony has progressed to become a Polar expert, with particular experience in Baffin Island and Greenland. Antony has already crossed the Greenland icecap from coast to coast last year and will be returning again in May 2010 to lead our Tangent Greenland Icecap Crossing Expedition. Following an extensive training period at Plas Y Brenin centre in Wales he recently completed 8 weeks training as a Polar Guide with renowned Polar Explorer Matty McNair of Northwinds (Canada). Antony has regularly taught various mountaineering activities through his time at the Duchy of Cornwall College and with British Schools Exploring Society. He has led several overseas expeditions, including Peru, Kilimanjaro (5 times), Baffin Island (3 times) and Greenland. He also works as a Mountain safety Advisor for Exploration Logistics, including projects in Oman,  Libya, Yemen, Egypt and Iran. He’s also led groups in Sweden, Norway, Slovenia, The Azores, Tunisia and the Greek Islands. He is a qualified Mountain Leader, International Mountain Leader, single pitch climbing instructor and holds the Level 1 IRATA rope access and rescue qualification. He holds the Advanced REC first aid qualification. Antony currently lives in Wembury, Plymouth.
